There is a high quality entry for Clifton Cycling Club's ten mile open time trial tomorrow on the Tadcaster by-pass course.

Hull's Joel Wainman heads a strong contingent from the Pete Read Racing Team. Keith Murray, the former Army champion who is now a civilian, rides in Steve Goff Frames colours, along with former York top veteran rider Tony Stott, who lives in Wressle.

Also in the line-up are Clifton Moor's Steve Gore-Browne (Velo Club York), Paul Watson (Knaresborough RT), Wayne Thorpe (Brough Wheelers) and his brother Nigel Thorpe (York Cycleworks).

The first rider will set off from the eastern edge of Tadcaster on the old A64 at 2.30pm. The rest of the field of more than 100 riders set off at one minute intervals behind him.

The second in a new series of circuit races for all categories of riders takes place tomorrow on a traffic-free closed circuit at the Army Foundation College, Pennypot Lane, Harrogate, starting at 2pm.

All cyclists are welcome to take part. Riders do not have to belong to a cycling club to be able to take part. Experienced instructors will be available to advise newcomers. Ring 01423 864970 for further information.
