AN un-named national plc is negotiating final details of a deal to move into a speculative development being built at the Raylor Centre, York.
Legal papers are being drawn up which will see a branch of the group move out of its premises elsewhere in York and into a sleek new silver-coloured warehouse and showroom on 9,350 sq ft being built at Alexandra Court trade retail park in James Street.
The inside layout of the premises are being designed to the company's specification. If the deal does go ahead as expected, the branch could open there in August.
Tony Raylor, who with brother, John, is financing the construction is reluctant to reveal the corporation involved until the tenancy agreement has been formalised.
But when building began agents Briggs Burley of Low Petergate, York were quoting rents of £50,000 per year on a 15 year lease.
A quick tenancy at Alexandra Court would be a triumph - and the second time in two years that the brothers will have justified their development gamble.
A little more than a year ago York Mailing occupied a 22,000 sq ft building they erected at Alexandra Court.
Tony said: "The new development is all silver and particularly
stunning."
