P JACKSON'S recollections of First World War relics is not correct (Letters, May 27). The 'tank' was situated opposite the Theatre Royal on the grass mound.
As for the gun, I do not recall it so am unable to confirm this.
All such weapons as these were taken for scrap during the Second World War.
