I WAS disappointed to read the headline "Air turns blue at outdoor concert" (May 29)to introduce your report about the live music event in the Museum Gardens.

BBC Radio York broadcast more than 15 hours of live music to celebrate BBC Music Live with styles ranging from classical piano to some of the best indie rock bands in York.

It was a rare chance to broadcast some of the best talent in North Yorkshire, much of it belonging to young people. It was a tribute to all those who took part.

So you can understand my dismay that you chose to highlight that a youngster in high spirits uttered a few swear words near a live microphone. It lasted less only a few seconds - hardly worth a mention, never mind a headline.

Enough on that subject. I would prefer to pay tribute to the many hours of dedicated practice and performance, both on and off air, by musicians young and old from across North Yorkshire who made BBC Music Live such a success. Also to the staff of BBC Radio York who worked long and hard to put such excellence on the air in difficult weather conditions.
