LAST Saturday I visited York to attend a wedding. During the morning I had to make an emergency dash to the shops for new shoes.
On my way back to the hotel I realised that my gold wristwatch was missing.
So back I went to the shop more in hope than expectation of retrieving it. To my great relief someone had handed it in.
To the person who found my watch and to the staff of Stead & Simpson for its safe keeping, my very grateful thanks.
