A NORTH Yorkshire man was still fighting for his life today after his car was in collision with a lorry.
David Calvert, 38, from Tadcaster, was said to be in a critical but stable condition in Hull Royal Infirmary.
Firefighters freed him from the wreckage of his car following the accident on the A659, near Tadcaster Grammar School. Friday's accident was at the junction of the road with Toulston Lane. The vehicles were travelling in opposite directions. Police have appealed for witnesses, particularly the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta which had turned into Toulston Lane at the time of the crash.
