THE launch of this year's York Early Music Festival was being broadcast on BBC Radio 3 today.
Guest artists playing at a concert at the National Centre for Early Music, in Walmgate, included The York Waits, the Yorkshire Bach Choir, the Lindsay String Quartet and Richard Shepherd of York Millennium Mystery Plays.
Delma Tomlin, administrative director of the centre, said: "The broadcast will give everyone a taster of the festival, but on a national level it is great for the centre because we are broadcasting to the whole country. It couldn't be better."
