Richard Whiteley and Carol Vorderman, the question master and numbers queen on Channel 4's Countdown, have teamed up again to lease a racehorse, and tonight they will be at Ripon Races to see its debut.
trained by James Bethell at Middleham, North Yorkshire, the two-year-old filly The Mare Of Wetwang will be running in the 7.20pm race.
The horse takes its name from Whiteley's honorary position as the Mayor of Wetwang, and he says: "Carol and I have every confidence in the Mare. I'm sure she will not let down her prestigious office."
