I ADVISE anyone carrying bags in a cycle basket to secure them safely with elasticated straps with hooks.
I had an awful experience last Wednesday afternoon about 3.30pm. I was cycling on the cycle path near Acorn Club on Thanet Road when two youths on bikes tried to grab my shopping bag from my basket. Fortunately they were unable to lift from my basket because of the straps. Cyclists beware!
