YES, there is a need for a fire station at Huntington (Evening Press, June 27).
People's lives and safety comes first, before residential and green belts are considered. Let's have a new station for the safety of some possible 30,000 to 40,000 people in the areas of Huntington, Strensall, New Earswick, Haxby, Wigginton, Stockton on Forest not forgetting Earswick.
Time saved getting to the fires will make it worthwhile plus all the fuel saved in these days of high costs.
