YORK are aiming for a Yorkshire ECB County Premier League and Cup treble when they pay a return visit to Scarborough tomorrow.

Last week York beat Scarborough at Clifton Park, having already beaten them in the League at North Marine Road earlier this season.

York University student, Ed Senneck, the former Sussex Under-19 left-hander, who has made a name for himself with good knocks in the York Senior League and in the Yorkshire League will be relishing meeting Scarborough again.

He scored an unbeaten 85 in last Sunday's League KO Cup game against the Seasiders.

Mark Wells, who has to work alternate weekends, returns to Scarborough's side taking over from Jeremy Rich in the only team change.

Simon Mason returns from Yorkshire Colts duty to take the place of York opener Marcus Wood who is on holiday in Ireland.

After an unsettling set of results, Harrogate rediscovered their winning ways with a ten-wicket victory at Cleethorpes and will be watching with keen interest the result of the South Yorkshire derby between the league's two front runners - Collegiate and United at Bawtry Road.

Harrogate find themselves in third place with nine points separating the front three, although leaders Collegiate have a game in hand on Harrogate who, in turn, have a game in hand on second-placed United.

Sunday sees Castleford stage a 50-over semi-final of the Yorkshire Inter-League KO Cup (1.30pm) between the league and its deadly rival the Bradford League, while Clifton Park entertains Easingwold and Thirsk in the two-stage final of Myers and Burnell Trophy, in which both sides bat twice with 16 eight-ball overs a time.

There were blushes all round involving both skippers and umpires when the league game between York and Castleford was curtailed last Saturday after all concerned thought it was the sensible thing to do.

There appeared to be little point in playing out the remaining 12 overs. The game had lost 80 minutes because of rain, Castleford had scored 268-7 and York's reply was on 94-2 when the skippers mutually agreed to call it a day, when in their opinion neither side could win. However, it was not in their power to enter into such an agreement.

Unfortunately, there is no provision under the laws of cricket and the Yorkshire League rules for play to be curtailed in that manner.

York's Nash Stone is currently the leading wicket-taker in the league with 50 victims while Nigel Durham's 23 victims - 14 caught and nine stumped - make him the leading wicket-keeper.

New Zealand strokemaker Tane Topia (Appleby Frodingham) is the most prolific scorer with over 700 runs while his team-mate John Parker is credited with the fastest 50, coming in 24 minutes off 22 balls.
