Manager: Brian Little

Stadium: Boothferry Park

Capacity: 13,000

Last Season: 14th

Comings and goings

Out: Steve Morgan, Jon Schofield, Neil Whitworth, Matthew Baker, Paul Wilson, Michael Blyth, Jon French (all released) Warren Joyce (former player-manger now coaching at Leeds United)

In: Defender David Brightwell (Carlisle United, free), winger Lee Philpott (on trial from Lincoln)

One to watch: Theodore Whitmore. The striker bagged just seven goals last season but that was in only 14 starts because of a string of interna-tional call-ups for Jamaica. With Jamaica's World Cup qualifiers pushed to one side next season, Whitmore should have a full season to prove his worth. Derby County manager Jim Smith claimed Whitmore was "too good for Division Three" after watching the target man score in the Tigers' 2-1 pre-season defeat to the Rams.

Odds: Massive potential, little promise. Locked out of Boothferry Park just weeks after taking charge, former Aston Villa boss Brian Little must have wondered what he was letting himself in for. But worse was to follow. The club has been hit with a transfer embargo having failed to pay-back money borrowed from the Players' Football Association to cover unpaid wages and the club's administrative and financial affairs are now being investigated by the fraud squad after a 12 month investigation by the FA. The off-field upheaval has obviously hindered Little's preparations and at this stage the comfort zone of mid-table would be considered a success. However, Little is renowned for producing organised and difficult sides to beat and if he can guide the club through these choppy waters happier times could be just around the corner.
