LAST year's player of year Barry Jones and midfielder Scott Jordan will join new signing Gary Hobson in sitting out tomorrow's friendly at North Ferriby (3pm).

With Dolan prepared to play a mixture of reserves and juniors for next week's North Riding Senior Cup final at Scarborough, tomorrow's fixture will be the first team's last before the big kick-off against Chesterfield.

Hobson was always doubtful after jarring his knee in last week's friendly with Manchester United while Jones suffered bruised ribs in Tuesday night's game with Middlesbrough.

Dolan anticipates both will be fit for next week but Matt Hocking keeps his place alongside Peter Swan while Mark Sertori also returns to the centre of defence.

Jordan, who made his second appearance of pre-season as a substitute against Boro, dropped out of training yesterday after suffering a thigh strain.

The latest niggle is another set-back for the playmaker, who missed City's pre-season training camp at Keele University last month with a knee injury.

"What Scott has got to learn now is he has got to get some training under his belt before playing games," said Dolan.

Dolan has indicated he will not be making any unforced changes tomorrow as he eyes next week's opening fixture at Saltergate and is predicting a tough work out.

North Ferriby United climbed the non-league pyramid this year having clinched the North East Counties League premiership title last season to win promotion to division one of the UniBond League.

"They won three trophies last year, winning the league, the East Riding Cup and the President's Cup so they have done very well," said Dolan, who is based in North Ferriby.

"They have been knocking on the door of the UniBond League for a few years now and now that they have got there they will be keen to make their mark."
