SO the council wants to lower the speed limit from 60mph to 50mph on the northern ring road A1237.
On the stretch between the Tesco roundabout and the A19 roundabout you will be lucky to reach five miles an hour at most times of the day.
The sheer volume of traffic coming from Tesco and B&Q, Clifton Moor Gate Road and the ring road itself means stationery traffic and lots of frustration.
The A1237 should have been built as a dual carriageway, as the A64 was, and now is the time to widen the road to two lanes in each direction while the new roundabout is being built at the A19 junction.
