York City Baths Club swimmers collected five titles, four second placings and 86 personal best times at the Yorkshire ASA Short-course Championships in Sheffield.

Three titles and a second place went to Alice Sunderland in the ten years girls' age group.

She was outstanding, taking gold in the 100m butterfly, 100m back crawl and 200m individual medley and silver in 100m freestyle, setting personal bests in the heats then the finals.

Another excellent performance came from Tom Southam in winning the 14-year age group 200m in a six second personal best, and also collected silvers in the 100m breaststroke, butterfly, freestyle and fourth place in the 100m back crawl - all in lifetime best times.

Robert Kinnel won the 11 years 100m breaststroke in a pb and also finished fifth in the 100m butterfly.

Other finalists were Joanna Feasby, in 12 years age group 100m freestyle, butterfly and 200 individual medley, all in pb times; and Andrew Fowler in the 11 years 200m individual medley and 100m breast-stroke to take gold in pbs.

In the ten years age group, finalists were William Peeke Vout in the 100m back crawl and Craig Jackson in the 100m freestyle, both in pbs.

The other swimmers who all achieved personal bests were Ben Long, Christopher Burns, Sophie Calphin, Sarah Walker, Lauren Mason, Kate Hollier, Mark Howath, Laura Linsay, Marie Walker, Anna Skilbeck, Elizabeth Jayne Young, Ashleigh Husband, Laura Cuthill, Pamela Kinnel, Sabrina Rapp, J J Blackwell, Eilidh MacDonald, Mairi MacDonald, Michelle Moffat, Sam Bradley and Philip Graves.
