AS the council have already pointed out, six people have been injured by drivers in Pavement in the past three years. Drivers frequently rush through Pavement and Coppergate even during the busiest times.

Pedestrians, including mothers and children, leap out of the way.

If drivers hit the bollard that's their problem.

If they hit a child or another pedestrian they destroy lives.

Anyone who criticises the bollard can't have experienced the death and injury of innocent friends and family due to reckless, careless drivers. Do they care more about a damaged car or a dead child?
