Middleham trainer Ferdy Murphy and his stable-jockey Adrian Maguire, enjoying a fine season, can figure on the scoreboard at Catterick tomorrow.

The formidable duo have good prospects of delivering a knockout blow with Ringside View in the Ellerton Juvenile Novices' Hurdle.

Despite running just an ordinary race on his hurdling debut, Ringside View improved appreciably on his next start at Newcastle when chasing home Bold Investor.

Beaten nine lengths at the line, he would have finished a good deal closer had he not ploughed through the third-last flight when moving into contention.

Probably capable of progressing further, Ringside View can make it third-time-lucky tomorrow.

It looks significant that Micky Hammond has booked the services of up-and-coming star rider David Dennis to partner Lochbuy Junior in thehorsesmouth.co.uk Conditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle.

A horse who has had his share of problems and who was restricted to only one outing last season, Lochbuy Junior has shaped well in two runs in novice events this season.

Now into handicap company for the first time, and looking nicely treated, Lochbuy Junior is awarded the Nap vote to open his winning account.

The Teeside Handicap Chase over an extended three miles looks a good opportunity for Castletown Count to notch his first success of the campaign.

Mick Easterby's gelding , a previous winner on this course gave the in-form Forest Dante plenty to think about at Southwell last month when going down by three lengths to the 13-8 favourite.

With Richard McGrath again in the saddle tomorrow, Castletown Count can go one better.

Nicky Richards ended a frustrating barren spell with a winner at Newcastle last Saturday and the Greystoke handler can add to his tally with A Venture To Phar in division one of the 'National Hunt' Novices' Hurdle.

Highly-rated last season, A Venture To Phar failed to come up trumps, finishing unplaced in a bumper at Doncaster before unseating his rider on his hurdles debut at Bangor.

The six-year-old remains well-regarded in the Richards camp and, with Tony Dobbin on board tomorrow, he should not be underestimated.

The North Yorkshire Handicap Chase over two miles has been chosen as the target for Made Of Steel, who was on the mark at Carlisle last week.

A 7lb penalty may not be enough to stop the 11-year-old, who will probably try and make all the running again, which is his favourite style of racing.

At Plumpton, Harasarah should run a big race in the St Andrew's Day Novices' Chase.

Trained by Martin Pipe, the five-year-old, a winner last week, looks head and shoulders over his rivals and can complete a quick double.

Also worth watching is the in-form Guilder in the Edwin Hill Handicap Chase.
