Pack of Cards moved into second place in division two of the John Smiths Sunday League with a fine 5-3 win over Riccall.

Nelson scored the goal of the game just into the second half when he lobbed the Riccall goalkeeper from 40 yards to give Pack a 3-1 lead.

Neil Ducey hit two and Merrick and Gaughter scored Pack's others.

Jackson, Connell and Steward replied for Riccall who, after having won their first three league games, have now lost their last two.

FC Magnet hit five past Jubilee without reply courtesy of a hat-trick from Darren Ward and one apiece for Paul Downes and Aaron Simpson.

In division one, Nestl Rowntree hit top form with a comprehensive 5-0 defeat of Middleton Celtic. Scorers were Kehoe, Wain, Whalley, Kilner and Cox.

Local rivals Acomb WMC and Volunteers shared the spoils when they drew 1-1. Volunteers took the lead through Lee Bond, only for Karl Young to equalise.

Blacksmiths Arms returned to form with a 6-1 win over Fulford WMC in division three.

Glen Hinds hit three with Peake (2) and Heels the other scorer. Fulford's goal came from Sutton.

Goals from Evans, Copley, Kilbride and Gotenby were Nestl Flags scorers in ther 4-3 home win over Black Horse.

After beating the league leaders last week, Wilberfoss came back down to earth with a 4-0 home defeat by Shape Shop who moved into third place in the division.

In division four Cygnets rollercoaster season continued when they hit Acomb Celtic for six without reply.

Thorpe Utd now have a five-point lead at the top after their 5-0 victory over Linton-on-Ouse.

York Nomads put last week's defeat behind them when they regained top spot with a 3-0 win at Boy & Barrel. Dunn, Shawm and Crosby were their scorers.

Heworth moved off the bottom with a 7-3 away win at Inland Revenue.

Innes and Coop both scored hat-tricks for Heworth, Guest getting the other. Burn (2) and Ellis replied for Revenue.

Black Bull and Zafs Reserves shared ten goals. Dan Lindsey hit four of Black Bull's with Jamieson scoring three for Zafs.

In the other game Hemingbrough were leading Middleton Celtic Reserves when, after 75 minutes, one of the goalposts collapsed, causing the game to be abandoned.

In division six Knavesmire climbed into second place with a 5-3 win over Greyhound with goals coming from Bainbridge (2), Lovett, James and Jackson. Gregory (2) and Starr were the scorers for Greyhound.

Enterprise Maff scored their first win of the season with a 2-1 win over Northern Spirit.

Adam Carlyle created the first for Andy Nicholson. Northern Spirit levelled the score but with just two minutes remaining, substitute Paul Bell hit the winner, once again assisted by Carlyle.

Opticare remain unbeaten but were made to battle for their point in a 2-2 draw with Beefeater for whom Hales and Charlestan were on target.

In the rearranged Challenge Cup ties Yorkshire Herald had little problem progressing when they defeated Zafs 7-0.

S Ward (2), Mackie, Dunn, G Ward, Vine and Walker were Herald's scorers.

In the other game Marcia took the lead only for Hutchinson to equalise for York Hotel. Paul Simpson then scored a second half penalty for York Hotel, but Marcia were not going to be denied, winning through 2-1.
