Kirkdale United played their first Beckett League division one game on their new pitch at Pockley but were unable to christen it with a victory.

Instead they needed an 83rd-minute penalty to draw 3-3 with Thornton-le-Dale.

Thornton took the lead through Tony Wootton but United hit back through Patrick Robinson and Phil Charlton.

Thornton drew level through Richard Swiers and took the lead with a 40-yard Mark Aconley free-kick. However, Adrian Voicu's spot kick levelled matters.

Leaders Black Swan, Pickering needed a late goal from Paul Mann to win a topsy-turvy game at his former club, Aislaby United.

Colin Frank put third-placed Aislaby in front only for Mann to equalise from 30 yards. Tom Bowley fired Black Swan ahead but, after Nick Wilkinson hit the bar for the visitors, Aislaby levelled through Kenny Temple. However, Bowley set up Mann to score the winner.

Second-placed Kirkbymoor-side Reserves won 6-0 at Coxwold to keep the pressure on at the top.

Andrew Wilkinson hit a hat-trick while Nicky Hodgson, Paul Hodgson and a Nicky Thurlow penalty also netted.

An understrength Rosedale won 5-0 at Slingsby with goals by Adam Burkinshaw, Ken Weatherall (2), Chris James and John Tindall.

Division two leaders Ampleforth came from behind to win a five-goal thriller at Westlers.

Kevin Wright fired the visitors ahead with a penalty but Lee Rudd equalised from the spot after Jamie Shepherd was brought down and then scored a 20-yard free-kick. But Ampleforth came back to win with goals by David Wallinger and Wright.

Second-placed Bagby and Balk beat Ryedale SC Reserves 3-0, while struggling Pickering Royal Oak lost 2-0 at Duncombe Park thanks to a 25-yard cross-shot by Jeremy Richardson and a Phil Mason goal.

Gillamoor beat Old Red House 6-0 thanks to a four-goal salvo by Daniel Broadbent, an Andy Breckons strike and an own goal.

Old Malton 3rds put eight without reply past Heslerton Reserves. Shaun Wilford hit a hat-trick, Mark Taylor a brace and there were goals apiece for Danny Cooper, Paul Milner and Lee Clayton.

A 'golden goal' gave Beckett League division one strugglers Union Rovers a 2-1 win at Driffield EI in the East Riding CFA Cup.

The hosts had taken the lead in the second half but Jamie Wilkinson equalised on the hour and, with the scores still level at full-time, the match went into extra-time. In the eighth minute, Ronan Burns laid Nigel Allan's cross into the path of Danny Boyes, who fired home the decider.
