After the midweek misery of a 4-0 defeat to Darlington, action will speak a thousand words for York City manager Terry Dolan at Barnet tomorrow.

"Talk is cheap," said the City chief, looking for a swift response from his team.

"I want the players to do the talking with their feet and their heads.

"We are now entering the second-half of the season and I am expecting a lot better in the second from what I saw in the first.

"As we keep saying nearly every other week, the players are playing for their careers now."

Despite Tuesday's wretched showing against the Quakers, Dolan will resist the temptation for wholesale changes tomorrow and seems prepared to let his players make amends.

On-loan striker Chris Iwelumo, after being refused permission to play in the LDV Vans Trophy by Stoke, will almost certainly return to the starting line-up while Alan Fettis will regain the number one position from Russ Howarth.

As reported yesterday, Marc Thompson will miss the game with a foot injury while Graham Potter is still ruled-out with 'flu.

Dolan has still to name his side but Matt Hocking, who scored a winning goal against Barnet last season, could come in for Thompson while Wayne Hall or Neville Stamp will play on the left.

Dolan proved himself a glutton for punishment this week by revealing he has now watched Tuesday night's match three times.

"I said very little after the Darlington game but we all came in the day after and watched the video of the game," he said.

"I had watched most of it the previous night anyway. So I have seen the game live, watched the video later that evening and again the following morning with the players.

"It was important that the players saw it for themselves. I don't often show the players videos of the games but sometimes it is important they see where they are going wrong and let's hope they learn from it."

The City manager added: "I am not going to look for excuses or accept any excuses from the players.

"I could understand it if it had been 0-0 and we hadn't created much in the way of chances but as I have said to them on previous occasions, things don't go for you all the time but the good teams grind a result out and make sure they do not give anything away.

"For the umpteenth time we have conceded two quick goals and we have got to be far stronger mentally to cope with the opposition."
