A river search for missing woman Carli Barry has so far failed to find her.

Carli, who disappeared from her home in the Holgate Road area of the city a week ago, suffers from ME and had been depressed.

Searches have been conducted in her neighbourhood and yesterday police searched the banks of the River Ouse.

Carli is described as 5ft 3in, fairly well-built with a rounded pale face. She has red-brown extremely long hair usually tied in a plait and she has two dreadlocks behind each ear.

She was wearing a long olive green fleece jacket with an orange lining, thin green canvas boots, a black hat and carrying a small brown rucksack. She walks with a stick.

Meanwhile, Ralph Tong, who went missing from Edinburgh and is believed to be depressed, is still thought to be in the York area. Police tracked him down to York through a bank transaction he made here and yesterday, a man told police in Scotland he believed he had seen him outside Marks and Spencer in York.

Mr Tong is described as 6ft and well-built with short, brown hair. He was last seen wearing a grey overcoat. Anyone with information should contact police in Edinburgh on 0131 662 5000.

* Police are still concerned about 92-year-old York man Tom Delaney, last seen on Friday at his home in the Heslington Road area. Police officers, some with dogs, have searched around his home and the grounds of nearby York University, where he enjoyed walking. He is described as 6ft, with grey, balding hair. He wears glasses and, often, a cap. He walks with a distinctive stoop and carries a walking stick.

Anyone with information should call York Police on 01904 631321.
