The BHB's decision to put on replacement fixtures to help compensate for the huge loss of racing to the weather this season sees Wetherby staging an extra meeting tomorrow.

Mary Reveley could be among the chief beneficiaries, courtesy of Bramble Fair in the featured Ian Hutchinson Memorial Challenge Cup Handicap Hurdle.

A revelation since being fitted with blinkers, Bramble Fair has won her last three races, including one on this course, in fine style.

Despite the seven-year-old rising in the ratings, it would take a brave man to predict her winning ways are about to end. With Anthony Ross in the saddle, she is fancied to make it four on the bounce.

Mick Easterby can also take advantage of Wetherby's additional meet, not least with Meadowbank in the three miles novices' chase.

This promising gelding got off the mark over fences over this course and distance last month and looks the type to progress further. Richard McGrath has the mount.

McGrath will also team up with Easterby's Banker Count, who has good prospects of providing the Sheriff Hutton stable with a double in the three miles handicap chase.

Having done all of his racing over shorter distances, Banker Count seemed to appreciate the step up to two-and-three-quarter miles at Kelso last time, staying on well to beat Cuthill Hope by four lengths.

The principal northern action takes place at Newcastle where the £60,000 Tote Northern National over a gruelling four miles and one furlong takes pride of place.

Tim Easterby's Scotton Green, successful last year, looks sure to make a bold bid for a notable double, but he may have to play a supporting role to nap selection Murt's Man, trained in Somerset by Paul Nicholls.

A good winner at Wincanton last time, Murt's Man looks certain to give Andrew Thornton a super ride in this marathon event.

Rum Pointer, who has come into his own since being stepped up in distance, can complete a hat-trick of wins for Tim Easterby in the In The Know Magazine Handicap Hurdle.

Dook's Delight, normally seen over fences, reverts to the smaller obstacles in the Sunday Sun Con-ditional Jockeys' Handicap Hurdle and, with Richard Fahey's horses in good form, he merits healthy respect.

Also worth noting is the exciting Dark'n Sharp, who looks capable of defying weight all round in the Tote Top Of The North Novices' Handicap Hurdle Final.

At Ascot, Tony McCoy, none the worse for a crashing fall on Heros Fatal at Taunton yesterday, teams up with Bellator in the £65,000 Mitsubishi Shogun Ascot Chase.

Venetia Williams' talented charge goes well on this course and will have had his confidence boosted by a recent easy win at Wincanton.
