THE first four of 14 new curtain-sided trailers have arrived at the Ripon headquarters of Potter Group as the logistics specialist company takes on bigger blue chip international contracts.

It is part of an investment worth more than £250,000, with each trailer costing £18,000.

The three axle Schmitz Cargobull trailers feature low maintenance disc brakes and are designed to operate at the recently-introduced 44-tonne general limit, carrying payloads of up to 32 tonnes.

While these first trailers will operate largely from Potters' Ripon hub, later arrivals will also serve the group's other northern depots, including its Selby warehouses and rail spur.
