WITH reference to Peter Evely, head of highways and regulation at City of York Council, I respectfully suggest he dons a mobile policeman's uniform and directs his energies towards sorting out some of the grid-locked traffic that seems to blight York every day ('Traders see red over praise for wardens', March 5).
Along with many other motorists I would appreciate his efforts along those lines rather than him continuing to distress small shopkeepers who are only trying to earn a crust.
I also wonder if York residents realise if the Ripon & York College development goes ahead, all the tour buses that park there now will be directed across the road into the Clarence Street car park, the result being many fewer car spaces for the ordinary motorist?
