Steadfast Selby kept right on track for a Yorkshire One promotion play-off finale after toppling visitors North Ribblesdale.

The 27-3 triumph nudged Selby into second place, one point clear of play-off rivals Wheatley Hills to heighten the prospects of a thrilling finale.

Had Selby not slackened off in the second-half they would have enjoyed a far more emphatic victory as they put North Ribblesdale to the sword.

The try-scorers were full-back David Batty and Mike Parsonage, who surged over from his right-wing patrol. The rest of the points were plundered by the accurate kicking of stand-off Carl Paterson.
