Yorkshire concluded their pre-season cricket tour of South Africa with a splendid victory over Lancashire by 36 runs in the 45 overs match at Newlands.

The Roses triumph was set up by Anthony McGrath who further impressed new coach Wayne Clark by thrashing 104 out of Yorkshire's 220 for three.

It was McGrath's third century of the tour and there were good supporting knocks from Gavin Hamilton (50) and Vic Craven (40 not out).

Hamilton was also the pick of the bowlers with three for 23 as Lancashire were dismissed for 184, Richard Dawson also making his mark with two for 23.

Yorkshire are back home tomorrow and later in the week Clark will be introduced to those on the playing staff who did not go to South Africa.

It is the Australian's first visit to England but there will be no time for sightseeing because his priority is to get Yorkshire into peak form for the start of the season in less than three weeks' time.
