Gutted Chris Brass believes York City will bounce back quickly after suffering their first defeat in ten games.

Brass, skipper in the absence of the suspended Steve Agnew, confessed City had wasted a golden chance to move nearer to safety after Saturday's 2-1 defeat at the hands of Plymouth Argyle.

But the tenacious midfielder reckons City haven't got time to lick their wounds.

"While we are disappointed now it has gone and we can't do anything about it," he said.

"We have just got to kick on again. We have gone nine unbeaten and what's to stop us doing it again?

"From where we were six weeks ago we have come on leaps and bounds but we have got make sure this is just a little blip and we kick on again.

Brass admitted the defeat was made more galling by the fact City had controlled the first-half up until Micky Evan's stoppage time leveller.

"I really am, as the old clich goes, sick as a parrot because I really do think it was three points missed and at this stage of the season we need three points, nothing more, nothing less," he said.

"We know how well we can play and I think we showed that in the first half and that's why we are so disappointed.

"We really did ourselves and injustice in the second-half and rolled over to let Plymouth take three points, which is very disappointing.

"I thought we were very comfortable up until the equaliser and it was pretty much the last kick of the half.

"They weren't in the game before then but it knocked the wind out of our sails and we said at half-time it would give them a lift.

"They didn't disappoint us and while we came out knowing what they were going to do we didn't rise to the task.

"They got an early goal in the second-half and after that we were fighting a losing battle.

"We were trying hard but sometimes you try to hard.

"It was frustrating because we needed an equaliser when really we should have been sitting quite comfortably."
