Acomb Ladies avenged the 3-0 Yorkshire Women's League division one defeat they suffered at the hands of Scarborough at the start of the season by beating the seasiders' 4-2.

Second-placed Scarborough opened the scoring after five minutes, but Acomb refused to panic and Sarah Clay levelled.

Megan Harlock put Acomb ahead and after Scarborough were pinned in their 'D' Kerry Rafton rifled in the third and final goal.

Acomb could have scored more before half time with Vicky Winters hitting the post after a fine run and reverse shot.

Scarborough piled on the pressure in the second half and pulled a goal back to set up a tense final 20 minutes.

Acomb should have killed the game off but Harlock and Ruth Baxter had fine efforts saved before the points were wrapped up with a successful penalty conversion.

Acomb's men were beaten 4-1 by a well-organised Sheffield University Bankers side in Yorkshire League division one.

The first half highlight for Acomb was goalkeeper Mike Brown's excellent penalty save. Acomb made a few changes at the interval and managed to pull a goal back through Ian Roberton.

Stuart Baxter had a busy afternoon and with Brown in goal they were kept occupied before Bankers scored a fourth goal.
