Askham Bryan College, near York, has underlined its commitment to the employment of disabled people by adopting the Employment Service's Disability Symbol.
The college, which offers a wide range of courses for agricultural and associated industries, also has an extensive estate with a commercial farming operation which provides valuable facilities for practical work experience.
The Disability Symbol can be used in recruitment material, and shows a commitment to five measures designed to encourage disabled job applicants and develop the full potential of disabled staff of an equal basis with other employees.
The college has worked closely with the Disability Employment Adviser at York's Clifford Street Job Centre.
Ian Calvert, the Employment Service's disability team leader for North and East Yorkshire, said: "Employers may well be keen to recruit more people with disabilities, but find that they simply don't apply for the positions.
"If they, like the college, can meet the five Disability Symbol commitments, they will find that the message comes across quickly and simply."
