Sessions 'A; have retained the Focus Fireplaces York and District Table Tennis League division one title, writes Clive Warley.
Fulford Road WMC 'A', who have relied on the same three players for most of the season, have finished runners-up.
They won their last league match of the campaign 6-4 against Coneysthorpe 'A', who had only two players as the other member of the side could not reach the venue because of bad weather.
York RI 'C' are relegated to the second division for next season.
INL 'B' team have won division two, clinching the title when they beat their 'C' team 8-2. Bootham Conservative Club 'C' finished in second place, piping Poppleton by two points.
Jonathon Wooldridge scored three wins as Bootham Conservative Club 'C' beat Sessions 'B' 7-3. In their last league match of the season Bootham 'C' beat Telecom 'B' 8-2, Pete Corner and Wooldridge each winning three.
Poppleton 'B', needing a big score in their last match to have a chance of promotion, were held 5-5 by Fulford Road WMC. Ed Wardman was unbeaten for Fulford
INL 'C' got two points from their last match but these were not enough to keep them in the division. British Telecom 'B' are relegated along with Poppleton 'C'.
Session 'C' team's 9-1 win in their last match with INL 'D' clinched the division three title by a point from Northern Electric. Richard Kendall and Ian Stevens each won three for Sessions. Northern Electric beat Terry's 7-3 but it was not enough to give them the title. INL 'D' and South Bank SC are the relegated teams.
In division four, Police have finished runners-up to Fulford Road WMC after their 6-4 win over Sessions 'D'.
