York City's relegation worries endured mixed fortunes last night.

City dropped to 19th in the Division Three table as Darlington drew 1-1 with Southend United at Feethams to move above the Minstermen on goal difference.

It could have been worse for City, however, as Darlington were within minutes of picking up three points.

Former City forward Glenn Naylor had given the Quakers the lead on 61 minutes only for Tes Bramble to snatch a point for Southend with an 84th minute equaliser.

Lincoln City suffered their second successive defeat when they went down 2-1 at Scunthorpe United.

A stunning injury time strike from Lee Hodges sealed the win for The Iron to leave the Imps just two points off the bottom.

Fellow relegation candidates Barnet are in action tonight at promotion chasers Cardiff City. A win for the Bees would also lift them above York City.

In Division Two, on-loan City striker Barry Conlon scored twice as Colchester United beat Swansea City 3-0.

Former City midfielder Steve Bushell, currently at Blackpool, has been linked with a move to Layer Road during the summer.

Meanwhile, tonight's North Riding FA County Cup tie between Bishopthorpe United and Kirkbymoorside at Bootham Crescent has been postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

A new date for the final will be announced soon.
