Yorkshire today breathed a sigh of relief when they discovered that star batsman Darren Lehmann will not be required by Australia this summer.

Lehmann, one of Wisden's six cricketers of the year, has not been named in the Ashes squad or the Aussies' one-day party to face England this summer.

His omission means that Yorkshire will have his services throughout the season but it also probably spells the end of the 31-year-old left-hander's international career.

Lehmann, who struck the winning runs for Australia in the 1999 World Cup final, has not been a part of Australia's Test plans for some while.

Former Yorkshire strokemaker Michael Bevan is included in the one-day squad.

Spinner Shane Warne has retained his place after speculation that he would not be making the trip.

Australian Test squad: Steve Waugh, Adam Gilchrist, Nathan Bracken, Damien Fleming, Jason Gillespie, Matthew Hayden, Justin Langer, Brett Lee, Simon Katich, Damien Martyn, Glenn McGrath, Colin Miller, Ricky Ponting, Michael Slater, Shane Warne, Mark Waugh.

Australian one-day squad: S Waugh, Gilchrist, Michael Bevan, Bracken, Fleming, Gillespie, Ian Harvey, Hayden, Martyn, McGrath, Ponting, Andrew Symonds, Warne, M Waugh.
