SISTER and brother Felicity and Simon Marks are making significant impacts in the world of fencing.

Thirteen-year-old Felicity, of Manor School, has represented the Northern Ireland Under-16 girls' epee team and competed in the home internationals in Salisbury.

Simon, who also attends Manor School, similarly represented Northern Ireland Under-16 boys in the epee discipline.

Meanwhile, the York an District Schools' Football Association annual meeting will be held on Friday at All Saints School, Nunnery Lane, starting at 4.15pm. It is hoped that all schools will be represented.

All the York and district schools are now back in session after the Easter holiday.

The schools' football season is now over apart from the various finals.

Details of these are as follows:

The under-12 final - Canon Lee v Sherburn and the under-13 final - Tadcaster v Manor will both be played at York City's training ground, Wigginton on Monday, April 30. Both finals kick off at 6pm.

Admission prices are: adults £2, children £1.

The finals of the under-11, under-14, under-15 and under-16 cup competitions will all be played at City's Bootham Crescent ground on Saturday, May 12.

The times of kick off will be sent out to schools after Friday's annual meeting.

The competing teams in these finals will be: under-15 final Fulford v Barlby; the under-16 final Lowfield v Burnholme.

The details of the under-11 finals will be printed in 'schools sports' next Wednesday, May 2.

After the end of the football season school sports report will be covering athletics, cricket, rounders, swimming and tennis.
