I HAD a stall in aid of York and District Against Motor Neurone Disease at Copmanthorpe's recent street fair - thank you to all who bought and contributed to this charity.
Opposite my pitch was Denis Sharp, of Copmanthorpe Methodist Church, busking to raise cash for Christian Aid.
Throughout the hot sunny day, Denis stood tirelessly at his keyboard and gave us favourite old melodies from Glen Miller, Abba, the Beatles, etc.
A big thank you Denis for your lovely, cheerful, tuneful contribution to the event. You brought back memories and you certainly brightened up the bric-a-brac, and I hope your sterling effort filled your Christian Aid bucket to the brim.
Joan Paley,
Alwyne Drive, York.
