Teenage ski sensation Adam Lee, from York, has firmly established himself as one of Britain's best on the slopes after winning a top competition, writes Dianne Hillaby.
The Clifton youngster triumphed in the opening Grand Prix of the plastic slope season at Chatham, despite being just 16-years-old.
He was up against the best adult skiers in England but was in terrific form to win by more than half a second.
On the same weekend he also won the Chatham Club National competition, completing a fantastic start to the season.
The English Ski Council Grand Prix series, which is made up of five races throughout the season, is the most prestigious skiing competition in the country.
Adam's latest success marks yet another milestone in a burgeoning career.
Last year he became the British Schools dry slope champion, won the North East Championship, finished third overall in the Grand Prix series and gained selection for England's World Cup squad.
His achievements are all the more remarkable as he only practices once a week, at Sunderland. Cost also means the opportunity to ski abroad on snow is limited. Anybody wishing to help fund Adam through sponsorship can contact Wendy Lee on 01904 639977.
