ABOUT 18 months ago the local bus company introduced Day Rover tickets costing £1.70 which enabled one to board a bus and go anywhere in York during most of the day. An excellent idea.
Then about six month ago the price went up to £1.80 and today it is now £2.
This is an increase of about 17 per cent, which is most definitely not in line with inflation.
It does demonstrate, however, that no matter what form of transport you use, private or public, you will still get screwed.
