Life during the time of the Wars of the Roses was recreated at a medieval townhouse in the heart of York.
Barley Hall was host to The White Company, a group of medieval re-enactors, who portray the lives of ordinary men and women during the 15th century. Visitors saw demonstrations of the everyday activities of a medieval household as the group lived, slept and ate at the hall throughout the weekend.
Military drills were also performed and there was sword-fighting in the courtyard.
Visitors were even allowed to join in the fun with an option to dress up in period costume to really get into the part.
