England are to allow all-rounder Craig White to bowl in only half of Yorkshire's CricInfo Championship match against Glamorgan which starts at Swansea tomorrow.

White is still recovering from a back injury and has been told he can bowl on the last two days but not before.

He played in this week's win over Northamptonshire at Headingley but only as a batsman.

"Craig did not recover in time to make it into the England squad for the one-day series of internationals but the aim is to get him fit for the battle for the Ashes," said Yorkshire skipper David Byas.

"England do not want him to overdo it at Swansea but feel he should be able to bowl during the last couple of days."

That, of course, will depend on the state of the game and he may not get the chance because Yorkshire are expecting the pitch to turn and are likely to play two spinners in James Middlebrook and Ian Fisher.

Gavin Hamilton rejoins the squad after being out with sore shins but he may not make it if Gary Fellows retains his place.

"Gary got out poorly in both innings against Northants but as well as scoring runs he keeps producing a run-out and is picking up a wicket or two," said Byas.

Darren Lehmann is fit again after missing out against Northants because of a trapped nerve in his neck, but Yorkshire are without Michael Vaughan and Matthew Hoggard who are both with England at Old Trafford.
