This year is the 125th anniversary of the Mothers' Union and to celebrate the York branch released scores of balloons at Castle Howard yesterday.
Betty Pearson, from the Haxby branch, said: "It was a fitting way to celebrate the anniversary - we have also got a display in York Minister."
