Poppleton kept their form in division one of the Tyke Petroleum Men's League despite fielding a changed side.

Alex Moore and Paul Turnbull top-scored with an unbeaten 25 in the 61-47 win over York.

Dunnington are still top, after beating Rowntree Park 72-36, Kevin Todd and Mike Taylor scoring 26.

Bubwith scored their first points with a competent win over Civil Service. Ian Driffill and Jonathan Sharp did the damage with 28.

In division two, Strensall beat Castle-garth 71-37 with stand-in 'man of the match' Peter Simpson scoring 22 with Matt Ward.

Poppleton II had a slightly easier passage against York II, Rab McEwan and Dave Carling scoring 27 of their 74.

Unbeaten Riccall kept up the pressure on Poppleton by beating Sherburn 70-38, 26 games coming from Mark Allitt and Terry Knowles.

Boston Spa remain the only unbeaten side in division four after beating nearest rivals Copmanthorpe II 76-32. Gordon Milne and John Develly contributed 29.

Heworth moved away from the bottom group with a win over Strensall II, Andrew Ward and Peter Witherwick scoring 25.

There was a shock in division five, where Rufforth lost their first match this century by 44-64 to leaders Cliffe.

Dave Hall and Jon Leetham, unbeaten on 26, and Dave Tomlin-son with Bruce Pullen on 24 did the damage.

Selby had a closer than expected win over Civil Service II, the 30 games scored by Francis Milivajevic and Steve Parr being the deciding factor. It was their second consecutive 30.

Keith Wigglesworth and David Cooper were top scorers with 23 for Knaresborough III but were unable to beat New Earswick in division six. Mike Wilson with Peter Wilson and Keith Pearson and Stuart Thorbeson each scored 21.

Top scorers of the week with two 12-0s in their 34 were Chris Burnham and Kevin Fairclough for Sheriff Hutton, who beat Bishopthorpe II 69-39.

Division six clubs are asked to note that Nestl II have withdrawn from the league. That means that all match results are now void.
