NORTH Yorkshire Schools Cricket Association finally got their season underway with an emphatic four-wicket win over East Yorkshire at Pickering.
Batting first, East Yorkshire's innings got off to a fast scoring pace with the North Yorkshire bowling being a lot more generous than it should have been.
The East Yorkshire openers put on a half century stand but their side were bowled out for 184. P Shally and M Wilkinson both scored 51 for East Yorkshire. T Pateman took 3 for 36 in nine overs and Tom Pringle 3 for 50 in 21 overs.
North Yorkshire openers Nathan Briggs and David Skaith put on 32 before the tea interval. After tea Skaith was caught out turning a ball off his legs and the catch was well taken at square leg
Briggs was out for 21 and this brought Duncan Snell and Giles Mansell together and Snell went on to score an unbeaten 102, hitting the winning runs with a well driven four to take North Yorkshire to 186 for 6.
