THE environment will be at the top of the election agenda tonight as candidates attend another hustings meeting.
York and Ryedale Friends of the Earth had invited all seven of York's candidates to face the public, although Socialist Alliance candidate Frank Ormston had a prior appointment and will not be able to make it.
The candidates will be asked which environmental issue most concerns them, and how they would deal with it if elected.
They will be debating issues including climate change, transport, the countryside and trade.
Questions from the floor will be welcomed on any environmental issue.
The event starts at 8pm in the York Railway Institute in Queen Street.
It is open to the public.
