I HAVE had enough of the poor service and disregard public transport providers have for passengers. I went from York, by bus and train, to Shipley, near Bradford, a journey that would take 60 minutes by car.
However, although the timetable states a similar journey time by public transport, it actually took nearly two hours to get there and two hours 20 minutes back. This isn't the first time it has happened.
I experienced three cancelled trains by the ironically-named Arriva who just don't seem to Arriva anywhere on time. There was no apology, because they did not even have the decency to acknowledge their trains had been cancelled. Finally, I had the infamous Number 4 bus cancellation by the wonderful First (or should that be last?) York.
Like Virgin Trains, names mean nothing if you cannot provide a reliable service. Next time I may avoid the stress and go by car.
