THE Duke of York takes a smile wherever he goes. That famous grin was displayed almost continuously during his visit to North Yorkshire yesterday.
His enjoyment was genuine. He took great delight in sneaking a look behind the scenes to try to catch out his hosts.
Such infectious warmth and good humour was reciprocated by the crowds who turned out to greet him.
Prince Andrew also carried out important work during his visit, including launching the charitable York and North Yorkshire Community Foundation. He is indeed a worthy ambassador for the city whose name he bears.
