Bert Keech are the only team likely to challenge Haxby Road and Holgate who have dominated the Ideal Standards Persimmon Homes York Bowls League in recent years.

A draw with Haxby Road has kept them in contention with the leaders and if Holgate lose in the next game against Haxby Road they could go top.

Stamford Bridge are on course for an immediate return to division one but once again the runner-up spot in division two is wide open.

After one season in the league, Wetherby are off to a good start in division three and a win at home to Stewart gives them a comfortable lead.

Following the withdrawal of Bert Keech 'B', Layerthorpe and Acomb from the Williamson Cup, Copman-thorpe, Vickers and Harrogate have byes to the next round while Acomb have entered the Freedom and Fellowship Cup.
