TRAVELLING back through time gives a whole new kind of gameplay in Konami's Shadow of Memories, a title that is somewhat different to the usual beat and shoot-em-ups.
At the start of the game, your character dies - not the usual way things happen. Following your "death", you wake up in a coffee shop, where you meet a fortune-teller who tells you the actual moment of your untimely death, and gives you clues on how to avoid it.
Homuneulus, the fortune-teller, provides you with a time-travelling device, the digipad, and sets you on your way.
You are now free to collect energy which enables you to travel back and forward through time, collecting information along the way to help you avoid your demise.
You can travel back to the 1900s, to 1980 and even the 1500s, where you meet up with your ancestors and even yourself on one occasion. But remember what you change in the past can and does affect the future.
Overall, this is an interesting game with some amazing graphics. The models look good, too, and the backgrounds are plain and simple, but elegant.
