A major effort is under way to promote smoke-free public places in York and Selby.
Project worker Carole Donnachie is aiming to work with businesses and other organisations to increase smoke-free places and zones across the city, in one of the first appointments of its kind in the north of England.
City of York Council has teamed up with North Yorkshire Health Authority and Selby District Council, to form the Selby and York Break Free Alliance which runs the project.
* Anyone wishing to comment on the campaign or to receive more information on the project should telephone or e-mail smokefree@york.gov.uk
