York Acorn 'A' are aiming to round off a fine season with a piece of silverware tonight when they meet Castleford Panthers 'A' in the final of the Yorkshire League division four top four play-offs at Featherstone Rovers Post Office Road ground (kick-off 7.45pm).

On final league positions Acorn will go into the game as underdogs because Castleford finished as league champions while Acorn finished a highly creditable third.

But the Blue and Golds will be hoping to repeat their achievements of last week when they beat runners-up Dewsbury Moor 'A' in the semi-finals.

Coach Mick Lumby and his assistant Kevin Warters have a large pool of 'A' team regulars to select from, mainly consisting of under 22-year-olds with a sprinkling of experienced campaigners.

One player certain to figure is 42-year-old forward Barry Fox who will be ending a quarter of a century as a player with the club when he pulls on a shirt for the final time.

They will be without teenage centre Shaun Gilmoor who broke his ankle during the semi-final.

All players and supporters are reminded that the bus will leave the club's car park at 6pm.

Acorn's Thanet Road ground will tomorrow be hosting York Wasps Academy's clash with Leigh Centurions, kick-off 2.30pm.
