WE are very pleased that Bill Shaw (Green Party) is supporting the Government White Paper valuing people and the rights of people with learning difficulties in York. York People First is a self-advocacy group run by, and for, people with a learning difficulty. We are part of the fast-growing network of self-advocacy groups in Britain.
Members of People First were part of the group which worked with John Hutton on the White Paper. Thanks to a Lottery grant, York People First now has an office open five days a week and is already working with City of York Council on a wide range of issues.
If the users of Krumbs caf have issues they wish to raise with the council or need support, we are happy to help.
