City Arms reinforced their leading position in York John Smith's Ladies Darts League division one by whitewashing Layerthorpe WMC.

Their captain, Bev Harton, started the rout with an 88 finish. Carole Pipes included two tons for 21, closing on 96, and Tracey Farmeary threw a maximum. Tina Platt was Layerthorpe's best player, recording two ton-plus scores.

Brigadier kept the pressure on the leaders by beating Cygnet 7-2. Carole Layne gamed in 24, while Cygnet's Dawn Exton shot 100, 140 in her singles then in a lone-handed pair game hit two tons to take a point.

Clifton and Ox entered the pairs all square then Jo Hodges and Pat Nelson edged Clifton in front, but Karen Alton and Janice Davies levelled. The Ox captain, Sandra Bruce, included two tons and, partnering Tracey Watkinson, sealed the victory.

Dringhouses' captain Mags Bell and daughter Sarah Jones snatched a last-gasp victory at Punch.

Jane Wright and Margaret Britton clinched victory for Cranes against Slipper.

Division two leaders Slip had Glenda Mordue checking on 75, but Severus' Sue Richardson and Sheila Elliott provided the telling shot in the decider.

Dorothy Barker hit the tons for Mitre and their skipper, Mandy Watson, single-handedly captured a pairs point, but they lost to Burton WMC, whose Margaret Davis and Jenny Barron gained the 5-4 win.

Half Moon, who are pushing the top two, flew into a 4-0 lead against Poacher. Sallie Spellman and Yvonne Watson cut the deficit, but Claire Knaggs and Paula Birkitt won the match for Moon.

Chris and Sally Swales won the decider for Britannia 'A' against their 'B' team. Cygnet hit the big scores, but it was Shepherd's superior finishing power which saw them to a 7-2 win.

Clifton and Woolpack are tied at the top of division three. Clifton won 7-2 at Puss 'n Boots, while Pack, with Sharon Nelson playing well, won 6-3 at Old Ebor.

Pete Leake continued his excellent York John Smith's Mixed League form with 17 darts in Huntington 'B' team's 5-4 victory at Golden Slipper 'A'. Leake's colleague, Paul Cooper, backed up with a maximum 180 in 21 darts.

Bumper Castle lost 6-3 to Huntington 'A' but had the top game, 17 darts from Dave O'Hara.

Windmill's 5-4 win against Three Tuns included 19 darts from Nick Harteveld.
